My 22nd working day started off with the senior architect sitting opposite me telling me that "I'm sorry guys, it's Michael again."And I am currently listening to Jackson 5's ABC.
So I withdrawed 50 bucks from my bank account yesterday.
Newspaper, chipsmore and a bread just to get the change for parking. 3.3 bucks.
Somemore I purposely pay separately so I can get the change twice ftw.
Lunch with Jon. 15 bucks.
Dinner (aunt's out.) 4 bucks.
Groceries 7 bucks.
TOOK THE WALLET OUT FROM YOUR BAG, WALKED OUT THE CAR, AND MANUALLY PUSHED THE CARLOCKSWITCH AND LOCKED THE CAR ( that's how i lock the car all the time)
WITH THE KEY INSIDE. PRICELESS.
well, not priceless. But my face expression at that moment is.
20 bucks.

Dad made a big fuss about this PPSMI, as if it affects his own children in 3 years time.

"Beginning 2012, students in Year One and Year Four in primary schools, and Form One and Form Four in secondary schools, will learn Math and Science in Bahasa Malaysia. "
"The gap between rural and urban students has widened since PPSMI started."
"Only 19.2% of secondary teachers and 9.96% of primary teachers were sufficiently proficient in English,” he said, explaining the Government’s decision to revert to the old system."
"Muhyiddin: PPSMI would take 15-20 years to see effect; must consider repercussion on students."
Okay, let's leave the first statement aside. Now the Government's decision to revert the old system, which both Math and Science will be taught in Bahasa Malaysia, is because of the low proficiency of the teachers in English. And let's head back to what happened in Febuary 2009.
Teachers claimed that they are going mad handing Math and Science in English and they
had to take English classes to improve their command of English.
I don't understand why they are being so impatient about it, if 15-20 years is the time we need, then you either wait, or figure out a way to shorten the span. Backing out half way at the very beginning stage is not a wise step, at all. It's intricating for the students to juggle around the two language, especially for those students who will enter Form Four in 2012. I can imagine them sitting in the class, staring at the teacher blankly, not understanding a shit of the technical terms used ; akin to my situation in during my A Level Physics or Math class, the sudden switch from kecerunan, to..gradient. Rural area students that prefer the mother tounge over english might find the decision capitalizing for now. And in a long run, rural area will remain as a rural area.
The idea of PPSMI has nothing to do with scrapping off the mother tounge from the students by forcing in a second language into the teachings of both subjects, so clear up your mind please. And you're telling all these decision are made objectively for future of kids, not politics. Oh how are we supposed to believe that.
But, it's Malaysia we're talking about, who knows, a week later we are going back to English.
Oh and and, isn't it ironic of how the teachers are the one that's complaing about the whole new teaching method, and of how the acronym of the whole-skim-pengajaran-dan-pembelajaran-sains-dan-matematic-dengan-menggunakan-bahasa-inggeris is in Bahasa as well instead of English.

" The Cabinet decided on Wednesday that Mathematics and Science will be taught in Bahasa Malaysia and vernacular languages in stages from 2012 onwards. DeputyThese are some snippets from The Star Online:
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who announced this, however, said more emphasis would be placed on learning English.
